Sob sob sob.
So I watched Dead Ringers (fucking good!) tonight, and it made me realise, through a couple particularly affecting scenes, how, like, the movies that affect me emotionally the most are not those that are usually linked to "tearjerker" right away. e.g. (SPOILERS):
Dead Ringers - "I want some ice cream"; separation; "Ellie? Ellie?"
Terminator 2: Judgement Day - the last 10 minutes (maybe 15); the scene under the car and my god, the whole damned movie! It's a perfect film.
The Fly - The death of Brundlefly.
The Elephant Man - pretty much the whole thing.
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan - Spock's death and Kirk's eulogy "He was the most...human".
Kill Bill - The ending.
Willard - the whole thing but particularly Socrates' death.
28 Days Later - Any of the deaths, primarily Brendan Gleeson's though.
Return of the Jedi - When Luke goes nuts at Vader in the throne room.
This shit makes me bawl my fucking eyes out. God, I'm in an emotional mood right now. I guess listening to Map of the Problematique by Muse doesn't help. That song really gets me going. Beautiful and sad melody, evokes a very desperate feel. I think this album is gonna be their best.
